STAFF POSITIONS:
Human Resources Coordinator

Department:    Finance & Administration                     
Reports to:       Director of Finance

Primary purpose of position:

Manages the day-to-day operations of the HR office. Manages the administration of the HR policies, procedures and programs. Provides assistance and support to Management and staff in the area of Human Resources while complying with government regulations, guidelines and laws. Creates the proper environment for all employees to maximize their effectiveness and economical utilization.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains an overall knowledge of all sub-disciplines of modern human resource management, including benefits administration, training and development, employment/employee relations and
    personnel administration.
  • Establishes and maintains central personnel files, and HIPAA files, all kept confidential.
  • Supervises receptionist. Schedules switchboard back up.
  • Coordinates performance reviews/job analysis: prompts timeliness; provides guidelines & forms; provides procedural assistance; establishes and maintains position descriptions of all employees; establishes and maintains compensation guidelines from internal and external wage analyses, local, national and industry salary surveys; provides assistance in establishing starting salaries.
  • Handles employment inquiries. Writes appropriate responses. Coordinates and recruits for company-wide staffing requirements. Screens applicants; works directly with group manager/supervisor to
    fill positions.
  • Establishes, maintains and processes the additions and corrections to the Employee Handbook of general personnel guidelines & policies.
  • Administration of employee benefits: ensure continual competitiveness; establishes procedures for program implementation; provides support on interpretations and special cases, coordinate problem resolution.
  • Administers the company group health, dental, life, disability, and instrument insurance plans including approval of monthly premiums and answering questions. Acts as employee’s advocate regarding issues of concern according to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Administers Corporate benefits plans, including current and frozen Staff & Musicians’ Pension Plans, and the 403(b) Plan.
  • Contributes to budget formation pertaining to all benefits.
  • Provides miscellaneous employee relations assistance: coordinate resolution of employee grievances; ensures government compliance on employee issues; develops and implements EEO and safety plans.
  • Conducts employee orientation, exit interviews and processes employees enrollment in & separation from benefits plans.
  • Other miscellaneous duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of multiple HR disciplines. Knowledge of federal & state employment and benefit laws. Strong interpersonal and communication skills from all disciplines, from all levels within the CSO. Ability to listen to others with compassion while representing the company’s positions. Capable of discerning and maintaining confidentiality of information and ability to professionally handle problems as they arise. Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations. Ability to maintain a working knowledge of company policies. Self-starter, self-motivator, self-director. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management; or equivalent first-hand experience in the Field of Human Resources. Five (5) to ten (10) years’ HR experience.

Position is being filled as a result of normal retirement.
